The site sits exposed on a south-facing shelf in a steep landscape. The building creates three sides of an enclosed atrium where the landscape itself makes up the fourth. Living areas open up towards the southern and eastern views, and are simultaneously orientated towards the inner atrium. The building thereby becomes a transparent zone between external and internal outdoor spaces.
The use of materials is restricted to birch in the interior, polished concrete on the floor, and cedar panelling externally. The cedar will turn grey naturally over time.
